Director / Principal

Hello. My name is Kelly Simonsen.I am so happy to be at Advantage Arts Academy for my 11th year in education.

I grew up in Florida, but Utah became my home after attending BYU and receiving my degree in Elementary Education in 2007. I've taught 4-6th grades in Texas and Utah. This year of my career finds me as the Program Director for AAA as I work towards my masters degree in Curriculum and Instruction. I truly enjoy working with our creative students and teachers at our amazing school.

Advantage Arts Academy is a perfect fit for me as an educator because the arts have been so influential in my own life. I was involved in music and art extracurriculars through grade school and into college. I completed an Art History study abroad program through BYU while studying to be a teacher and found the perfect integration of areas I love! My favorite part of AAA is our culture of expression and celebration of individual talent. Every teacher and student brings gifts to our school that truly sets us apart from the rest.

Kelly Simonsen is the Director / Principal for Advantage Arts Academy, but previously served as the Assistant Principal/Curriculum and Assessment Director.
