Amanda Mc Combs's Bio
Esl Instructor And Movement Specialist
Hello Advantage Arts Academy!
My name is Amanda, and I am thrilled to be joining the faculty this school year.
I graduated from the University of Utah with a Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Studies with an emphasis in Early Childhood Education and a TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) certification. Currently I am enrolled at Western Governors University in the Masters of Curriculum and Instruction program. In the past, I taught first grade and worked a variety of roles in preschool and daycare settings, ranging from an assistant director to the program specialist. I had a lot of fun planning activities to extend my student’s learning beyond a pencil and paper.
I love to get outside and have adventures whenever I can! Some of my favorite things include cooking and baking, books, plants, and all my animal friends. My family helps me take care of our little zoo we have at home that includes three cats, two dogs, a chameleon, and a frog. We live in Daybreak with our five children. I enjoy getting crafty and creative and have a background in performing arts. I love attending musicals and will usually find a song reference for everything.
I am so excited to be here! We will make some amazing things happen together!
