Special Education Teacher

My name is Bea Lunde or “Ms. Bea” to our amazing students and wonderful staff. This year I am beyond excited to be teaching Special Education at Advantage Arts Academy to our 4th,5th and 6th grade students.
I graduated from the University of Utah with my Bachelor of Science Degree in Special Education in 2018.
Prior to coming here, I worked for the Salt Lake City School District both as a Sped Teacher for one year as well as previously for 6 years as a SPED paraprofessional, where I was able to gain a lot of classroom management and teaching experience.
I am also certified as a Spanish Interpreter with several years working for both SLCC and Asian Association of Utah.
I was born in Peru and raised here
in Utah. I have been married for 20 years and have two boys ages 17 & 18. I also have a chunky dog named Shiloh and two cats named Misha and Totoro.
On my free time. I love spending time with my husband, my two boys, my extended family & friends. I love to travel and seeing new places ; especially the beach, embracing and learning about new cultures, foods listening to music and finding time to enjoy life in general.
I believe ever child is a unique individual who is capable of grasping their own learning style . They have the potential to reach their goals and succeed when the right teaching tools and support are given both at school and at home.
“A child is like a butterfly in the wind. Some can fly higher than others, but each one flies the best it can. Why compare one against the other? Each one is different, each one is special, each one is beautiful.”
I am looking forward to seeing “my butterflies” fly high this year to reach their goals with the support of our wonderful staff and their parents, as well as to having a fun and AAAmazing school year!
