Lauren Popp's Bio
4th Grade Teacher
Hello Advantage Arts Academy community! My name is Lauren Popp. I am so excited to be teaching fourth grade this upcoming school year! I graduated from Colorado Mesa University in May 2020 with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education with an emphasis in Social Sciences! I completed my student teaching in Grand Junction, Colorado in 1st, 4th and 5th grade classrooms. I am excited to be back home in Utah to teach some amazing fourth grade learners!
I grew up in Draper, Utah and currently live in Cottonwood Heights next to the beautiful mountains. Growing up, I always had a passion for helping others. In my junior year of high school, I had the opportunity to travel with my youth group to a Native American reservation where I taught children how to read. This is where my love for teaching began! I love teaching my learners through different outlets, whether that's teaching them a song, folding origami to learn shapes, or reading poetry to learn about different cultures!
Some of my hobbies include kayaking, hiking, painting, cooking, baking and crafting a whole day away! I love spending time with my family and friends. As well as exploring our beautiful state! I am looking forward to the days when I can travel outside the US so I can bring more culturally rich teaching into my classroom!
I believe art can be found in every subject and I can't wait to help your students fall in love with learning through art integrating! I am so excited to meet my learners and have an incredible year with them!
