Lauren Smuin's Bio

Profile Image

2nd Grade Teacher

My name is Lauren Smuin. I was born and raised in Vernal, a small town in Utah. Growing up I tried a little bit of music, dance, and sports, but fell in love with and played volleyball, basketball, and softball throughout high school. I continued my volleyball career in college on the club team at Utah State University. I graduated from Utah State in May of 2020 with my degree in Elementary Education.

While at home for the summer before my senior year of college, I ended up getting an internship at an elementary in my home town teaching second grade. I was able to teach my first year in Vernal, while completing my senior year of college. Throughout the year I integrated the arts into as many lessons as possible.

I enjoy being outside and being active. I love hiking, camping, paddle boarding, working out, listening to music, playing and watching sports, and being around family and friends. I also enjoy traveling and experiencing new places and things to do. I’ve surfed in Hawaii, jumped in a waterfall in Oregon, been to 7 MLB fields, spent a week jeeping through California and zip lined a half mile in Costa Rica.

I am excited to continue my new adventure and integrating the arts into lessons at Advantage Arts Academy as a second grade teacher!
