Chelsie Lambert's Bio
My name is Chelsie Lambert and I will be teaching Kindergarten this upcoming 2020-2021 school year. I wanted to introduce myself. I grew up down the street in Riverton and graduated from Herriman High School. After graduation, I went to a Junior College in California where I played two years of collegiate softball. I then transferred to Brigham Young University- Hawaii and played softball for two more years. While at BYU-Hawaii, I fell in love with teaching and had a blast student teaching in a fourth grade and kindergarten resource room. I completed my degree in 2017 in Elementary Education with a certificate in Special Education. Immediately after graduation, I started a Master's program at the University of Colorado Denver where I studied Curriculum and Instruction in Reading and Writing and finished in 2019.
My teaching experiences have given me many opportunities to teach in a wide variety of settings. Before teaching professionally, I completed two internships in Fiji and Mexico to a range of students from six years old to adults. My first teaching position was in Hyrum, Utah where I taught Kindergarten for two years. This past year, I moved to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where I am currently teaching 2nd grade Special Education in an inner city school. All of these have brought challenges and successes that have molded me into the teacher I am today.
I am a very creative and artsy person. Growing up I took singing, dancing, and art lessons. In elementary school I participated in a school play. I enjoy crafting with my mom and sisters on the weekends where we make holiday decorations. As a new mother, I find any chance I can to sing and dance around the house with my baby boy. As a teacher, I love singing songs with my students and moving around the classroom as we learn. I will find plenty of opportunities for students to engage in the arts.
I am beyond excited to meet you and be part of the educational journey of your family.
