Jolinda Carlson's Bio
My name is Jolinda Carlson, I was born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah. I am excited to be the Office Manager at Advantage Arts Academy. I have a Master’s Degree in Education and a Bachelor’s Degree in Family and Human Development, with a Sociology minor.
I am passionate about and have always enjoyed working with people and children. I taught Elementary for nearly ten years in the Jordan School District. Throughout my teaching experience, I had the opportunity to be a Team Leader, Collaboration Leader, a Leader of the Schoolwide Leadership Program, a Student-Teacher Mentor/Trainer, as well as a New Teacher Mentor. I have several years of experience as a Human Resources Manager and an Office Manager. I recently had the opportunity to live abroad in Spain where I taught English at the High School and Middle School grade levels, and experienced a different language and culture.
I have a deep love for music and dance. Music has been a part of my everyday life. I used to sing in a choir, had the privilege of going on tour, as well as competing in small group ensembles. I have always loved and enjoyed the Arts programs and think this school has so much to offer. I hope students will be able to express themselves through the various arts programs provided within this Academy.
Some of my interests and hobbies include playing sports, one of my favorites is softball, which I enjoy playing and still currently play in Tournaments. I love going to the lake, water sports, traveling, the ocean, the beach, camping, spending time with friends, and enjoy being outdoors and in the mountains. I adore my nieces and nephews and savor my relationships with them. I am eager to learn and grow, and am excited for what this year has to offer!
